Rubicon Associates is an Australian owned consultancy that provides naval architecture, marine engineering services, platform systems design and integration, project manage and contract management services to Defence, Defence industry and other commercial industries that own, build, and maintain maritime/floating assets.

Rubicon offers a wide range of engineering and consulting services supporting numerous Royal Australian Navy (RAN) vessels and platform systems.

Our multi-disciplinary team are established experts in the design, build, upgrade, maintenance and repair of Naval Platforms. Our experienced team of naval architects, hull (outfit), marine, mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering specialists can provide a broad range of consulting, design and engineering services. We have been involved in design, construction, and integration projects for all RAN platforms – including the ANZAC Frigates, Collins Class submarines, Canberra-Class, LCHs, Adelaide-Class Frigates, Oilers, Hydrographic Ships, and Minehunters – with clients including the Commonwealth Department of Defence and prime contractors.

We undertake a wide range of activities from requirements analysis to concept and feasibility design, through to construction design (detailed design), life-cycle support, and even into life of type extensions (LOTE). We also perform engineering assessments and complex engineering analysis.

Our consulting services include advice on program and project management, business and process improvement, risk and safety management, and procurement and contract management.
