South Australian electronic warfare company DEWC Services has been recognised in the 2023 Australian Association of Graduate Employers’ (AAGE) Top Graduate Employers list.
The defence industry company supplies intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare (ISREW) solutions for the Department of Defence.
It also provides a tailored two-year graduate development program with on-the-job training and mentorship for graduates, launched in 2020.
DEWC Services chief executive officer Allan Dundas said the company was proud to offer a unique graduate development program that is helping grow a sustainable technical workforce for Defence, both now and into the future.
“Our graduate program is cultivating some of the brightest minds to develop innovative solutions for the Australian Defence Force and build a successful career in the defence industry,” Dundas said.
“Graduates have the opportunity to work closely with some of the country’s most experienced defence engineers, scientists, and technicians who are sharing their experience and providing mentorship to build the future talent pool.
“There are significant workforce challenges currently being experienced by defence industry, based on increased competition for limited workforce resources.
“Graduates provide a valuable resource from which an effective and capable workforce can be developed over the longer term as an investment in the future of industry support to Defence.”
The AAGE Top Graduate Employers ranking is based on first-hand ratings and feedback from graduates who spend at least 12 months with their employer.
DEWC Services chief technology officer Vern Collins said there is a broad range of skilled graduates across engineering, science, and cyber streams who have successfully completed the program and gained ongoing employment in the defence industry.
“DEWC Services made a strategic decision to significantly increase its investment in graduate recruitment to provide a foundation from which an expanded ISREW and cyber workforce could be grown in the company from the ground up,” Collins said.
“We offer a flexible program, which is tailored as much as possible to satisfy the individual preferences and aspirations of graduates.”
