Raytheon Australia selects Codan for LAND 555-6 RF technology

14 November 2022

Raytheon Australia has selected Codan Communications to develop a high-frequency amplifier and antenna system as part of the LAND 555 Phase 6 program.

The program is for the development of a force level electronic warfare system, with the capabilities based on existing and mature systems.

“Codan being a 100 per cent-owned Australian company, is delivering a truly sovereign HF radio solution for the Australian Defence Force ultimately helping protect and save the lives of Australians,” said Paul Sangster, president, Codan Communications.

The LAND 555 Phase 6 Land Force Level Electronic Warfare Project is designed to deliver a new electronic warfare system for the Bushmaster protected mobility vehicle.

A release from Codan explained that the capability is expected to enhance the Army’s ability to monitor and control the electronic environment, as well as deny and degrade the electronic systems of adversaries.

In July, Defence confirmed Raytheon Australia has been selected to upgrade the Australian Army’s existing fleet of Thales-built Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles as part of the $75 million Land Force Level Electronic Warfare Project.
