Rheinmetall Defence Australia signs support deal for ADF

12 October 2022

Rheinmetall Defence Australia has signed a deed of agreement with Townsville based RGM Maintenance that will bring ongoing secure jobs, training and sovereign industrial capability to the region.

Gary Stewart, Managing Director of Rheinmetall Defence Australia said the deed brings together both organisations to work on Medium Heavy Capability services for logistic vehicles as part of the Australian Defence Force’s Land 121 program, at RGM premises in Townsville. “Rheinmetall Defence Australia will work with RGM to support the delivery of work packages by providing Field Service Representatives, parts, tools, equipment and technical expertise. This ongoing opportunity expands the capability and strength of our business for the Australian Defence Force. This true partnership between our companies will enable RGM to expand the services they already provide to the Commonwealth Joint Logistics Unit supporting Townsville units. I’m delighted that RDA will bring a raft of industry experience to the RGM business and provide a true industrial capability for the region, for now and years to come,” Stewart said.

RGM owners, Russell Newman and Greg Jackson said the deed of agreement meant that the Townsville-based organisation would work on logistic vehicles operated by the Australian Army in the same region. “RGM is delighted to become a Rheinmetall Australian Industry Capability partner and a member of the company’s global supply chain. The many skills and years’ of experience this collaboration will bring are countless to Townsville,” they said.

Rheinmetall Defence Australia is the the largest supplier of military vehicles to the Australian Defence Force with a wealth of experience in logistic and tactical vehicles.
